4. General Data Security Information

Data processing when calling up websites

When a website is called up, a large amount of data - including personal data - is automatically transmitted via the Internet. From a technical point of view, this is necessary in order for the website call to function at all and also in order to be able to provide you with the best possible result.

For example, whenever you call up a web page, an image is retrieved from a server, an external plug-in (or script) is loaded or a video is streamed or one of the many other transmission options is used, data is sent from your computer to the server from which you retrieve it. When you access a website, your browser (e.g. Firefox, Internet Explorer, Edge, Opera, Safari) automatically sends certain information from your system. These data are for example:

  • Website from which the website or a file (image, script, video) is called or in which the file is embedded (referer).
  • Operating system
  • Screen resolution
  • Keyboard layout (language)
  • IP address from which the website or file was accessed
  • Name of the accessed web page or file
  • Time stamp (date and time) of the request
  • Name of the browser and its version
  • Amount of data transferred
  • Access status (file transferred, error code)

This data is logged by each server. The logging is done, for example, to

  • maintaining and checking IT security (e.g. to detect hacker attacks) and IT operations
  • statistical analysis (about the use of the website)
  • improvement of the website
  • adapted output of the website or files, so that they are (can be) displayed optimized on your end device

No pseudonymization or anonymization is used for security protocols, as this would make it impossible to draw conclusions about potential attackers. As a rule, the evaluation of data for other purposes is anonymized and no profiling is carried out. Further information can be found in the further course of this data protection declaration.

Data subject

The "data subject", is the person whose personal data is collected and processed. In the following, the "Data Subject" is also referred to as the "Website Visitor" or "User".

Informationen on data subject rights

Every data subject can assert his or her rights (data subject rights) against the person responsible. This can be done as an email, by mail or a provided form. Telephone inquiries are also possible. However, telephone inquiries will only be accepted and will not be answered on the phone. The data controller selects the medium (mail, email, other media) and sends the data subject the response to his/her request via this medium. Responses to requests regarding the rights of data subjects are provided free of charge. In case of excessive exercise (e.g. strong accumulation) of the data subject rights, a fee may be charged. The response shall be given within the statutory period of one month. The deadline may be extended in exceptional cases (e.g. high number of requests or high complexity of the request). Reasons must be given for the extension of the deadline. The rights of data subjects are listed below. For the sake of clarity, we have noted the data subject rights in bullet point form. Behind each list you will find a link to detailed explanations (on the HUBIT data protection pages).

The data subject must authenticate him/herself to the data controller to ensure that he/she is legitimized to exercise the data subject rights.

On the HUBIT data security page, you will find a form that you can use to exercise your data subject rights with us: Data subject rights form

7. Newsletter

Newsletter data

If you would like to receive the newsletter offered on the website, we require an e-mail address from you as well as information that allows us to verify that you are the owner of the e-mail address provided and that you agree to receive the newsletter. Further data is not collected or only on a voluntary basis. We use this data exclusively for sending the requested information and do not pass it on to third parties.

The processing of the data entered in the newsletter registration form is based exclusively on your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a DSGVO). You can revoke your consent to the storage of the data, the e-mail address and their use for sending the newsletter at any time, for example via the "unsubscribe" link in the newsletter. The legality of the data processing operations already carried out remains unaffected by the revocation.

The data you provide for the purpose of receiving the newsletter will be stored by us until you unsubscribe from the newsletter and will be deleted after you unsubscribe from the newsletter. Data that has been stored by us for other purposes (e.g. e-mail addresses for the member area) remains unaffected by this.

8. Further Data Processing

Use of Javascript libraries

We use the Javascript libraries "jQuery" and "MooTools" on our website for our websites. There is a high probability that your web browser has already cached "jQuery" and "MooTools" due to visiting another website. This allows your web browser to access the cached copy. By integrating "jQuery" and "MooTools" via Google CDN, data (e.g. your IP address) may be transferred to Google in the USA. The use of "jQuery" and "MooTools" is necessary for the presentation of our website. We do not use "jQuery", "MooTools" and Google CDN for analysis purposes. You can find out more about Google CDN, "jQuery" and "MooTools" at developers.google.com/speed/libraries/#jquery. You can access Google's privacy policy here: policies.google.com/privacy?hl=de&gl=de.
